This year the ISK Arts Week will take place from Wednesday 27th February to Sunday March 10th.
Wednesday 27th February
This year Music Network are proud to announce that Miceál O’Rourke will be performing in the ISK Arts Week . Míceál is an internationally acclaimed pianist.This performance will comprise music by Debussy, Muggorsky and will also have visual displays of relevant art work introuduced by Stephen Ackert of the National Gallery of Art in Washington. This is to be followed by an open discussion between the audience and the artists.
Thursday March 7th
“Birds of Your Back Garden” with Frank King. Frank is a highly regarded ornithologist. He is a well known and highly regarded figure in the locality. “Birds Eye View” is his regular slot on Radio Kerry where he discusses all things ornithological. He will bring his vast knowledge and expertise to the Arts Week.
Sunday March 10th
Music Network will also present We Banjo 3 at the 2013 ISK Arts Week. The band are an award-winning group from Galway and they combine Irish Music with Old-Time American and Bluegrass influences to reveal the banjo’s rich legacy and roots. When this band of brothers take flight in a wave of virtuosity, verve and joie-de-vivre, feet tap and pulses race.
