Extracurricular Activities

We place  a lot of emphasis on extracurricular activity in the school, as it is part of our mantra that when someone has been through the system in our school that he/she will have participated in some activity or activities outside of the classroom. As you will see from the list below we try to accommodate the students in whatever fields they are interested in and we encourage everyone to participate in something.

The following activities take place in our school each year:

Sport: Football, Basketball, Rugby, Soccer, Athletics, Hockey, Golf, Tennis, Volleyball, Hillwalking and many more.

Music: Traditonal Bands, Rock Bands, Solo Singers, Singing Groups, Annual Arts Festival, Classical Groups.

Elizabeth Brosnan offers lessons in Piano and Flute in the school.Students can play for pleasure or for grade examinations. Junior certicate and Leaving Certificate Performance Programmes are also prepared.

Donal Moroney also offers music lessons to students in the school. Students can learn, Guitar (electric/acoustic), Bass Guitar, Mandolin, Irish Bouzouki, Tenor Banjo, Fiddle, Bodhran and Percussion

Drama: School play in February/March with practice from just after the Christmas holidays onwards.

Arts & Crafts: The school enters the Form & Fusion design competition each year.

Quiz: The school enters national quiz competitions each year.

Debating: We have teams that compete in the different language competitions
